Copyright Ownership

Authors who publish with Journal of Philology and Codicology Cathexis Studies (JPCCS) retain the copyright to their published work.

Authors grant JPCCS the right of first publication and the non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, preserve, and make the article publicly available.

License

Unless otherwise clearly stated for particular third-party material, articles published by JPCCS are distributed under the:

Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Under this license, users may:

  • read;
  • download;
  • copy;
  • share;
  • distribute;
  • print;
  • search;
  • link to;
  • adapt;
  • remix;
  • transform; and
  • build upon

the published work for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, provided that:

  1. appropriate credit is given to the original author(s);
  2. a link to the license is provided;
  3. any changes made are clearly indicated; and
  4. any adapted or derivative work is distributed under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Author Rights

Authors may:

  • deposit the published article in institutional or subject repositories;
  • upload it to personal or institutional websites;

  • include it in theses, dissertations, books, or other scholarly works;
  • share it with colleagues, students, and the wider public; and
  • reuse their work in accordance with the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Permissions

No separate permission from JPCCS is required for reuse permitted under CC BY-SA 4.0, provided that proper attribution is given and derivative works are distributed under the same license.

Users wishing to reuse third-party material that is excluded from the Creative Commons license must obtain permission directly from the relevant copyright holder where required.

Reprints

Electronic or printed reprints may be produced and distributed in accordance with CC BY-SA 4.0.

Any reprint must clearly acknowledge:

  • the original author(s);
  • article title;
  • Journal of Philology and Codicology Cathexis Studies (JPCCS);
  • publication details;
  • DOI, where available; and
  • the applicable Creative Commons license.

Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions to reproduce copyrighted photographs, manuscript images, facsimiles, illustrations, tables, maps, or other third-party material not covered by an applicable exception or compatible license.
